TIPS:
ELECTRIC FAN
All Hot
Rod Air
electric fans should be mounded using metal brackets that attach
to either the radiator tanks or radiator.
It is not recommended to use nylon tabs as these tabs can cause
damage to the tubes over time due to engine vibration. When using
Hot Rod Air's line of reversible electric fans, the fan blades
and the polarity of the motor must both be changed to convert
fans from puller
to pushers
or vice versa.
Whether using a single fan or a dual fan setup, a combined airflow
rating of at least 2500 CFM must be achieved to cool an engine.
A puller fan mounted on the engine side of the radiator is recommended
as the optimal electric fan setup. Although pusher fans on the
grille side of the radiator can provide airflow, they can also
restrict airflow created at highway speeds. The combination of
a pusher fan on the grille side of the radiator and a puller fan
on the engine side is not recommended as the two fans will "fight"
one another causing less than optimal airflow.
